Nixer.org is a blog by Edward Buck (me) about computer technology and the implementation of such in practical terms. The site covers a range of topics including *nix (Linux/Unix), open source software, software development and system administration. Beyond the occasional rant, you will find howtos, reviews, news analysis, software packages, scripts and other potentially useful things here.

As for a little background on me, I consider myself both a technologist and an entrepreneur. I've worked at various software and Internet infrastructure companies in Silicon Valley for 10+ years, at both large Fortune 500 companies and small startups. I've successfully started and sold a company, and helped a number of others go from startup to going concern. Beyond my penchant for trying out new things, I'm quite knowledgeable on the subject of Linux/Unix, Internet network/systems engineering and open source software.
